Training Walk - ALAMEDA
Time: 8:00am - 1:00pm
Location: Alameda
We will meet at the end of the road on McKay Ave. where it dead ends into Robert Crown Memorial State Park *there is no parking fee since it's on a public street*
the cross street is Central Ave.
Time: 8am - 1pm Distance: Apx 12 miles
SPEED: 2.5 - 4mph
Route Conditions: Flat, Pavement, Dirt (weather permitting), Bridge incline
What to Bring: Fanny Pack, ID, Cash (optional), Wide mouth water bottle (for refilling purposes)/CamelBak, Blister Kit, Sunscreen, Sunglasses(optional), Hat (optional)
Departing from McKay Ave. we will walk through the park and along shoreline drive. (if rain) we will then follow shoreline along Broadway for half a block to Bayview Drive and continue to follow the path to the shoreline again. Where we will then take the Bay Farm Island Bridge across to the path on the other side of the estuary.
There is a restroom and picnic area at the half way point where we will take a short stretching/snack break before turning around and heading back.
There is a good chance we will be done before 1pm but with the break it's hard to adjust everyone's time for completion.
RAIN OR SHINE (if there is rain or signs of mud we will walk along the streets and not the usual dirt trail) COME PREPARED.
