211,240 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005
40,410 women and 460 men will die of breast cancer in 2005
Every 3 minutes, there is a new diagnosis of invasive breast cancer
Every 14 minutes, a life is lost to breast cancer
A woman has a 1 in 7 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime
Only 5-10% of breast cancers are genetic everyone is at risk
77% of breast cancer diagnoses are for women over age 50
However…most breast lumps are benign (not cancerous)
